0

More than 200 pupils from public nursery and elementary schools in Saint-Martin met on June 22 and 24 at the Bellevue rugby stadium to celebrate Olympic and Paralympic Day 2022 with the theme of honor this year: "Peace and Solidarity"

This sporting event organized by the USEP Northern Islands coordination association is the culmination of an educational project developed with the territorial rugby committee of Guadeloupe, the Archiball club of Saint-Martin, National Education, the Collectivity and Secular solidarity.

More than a sporting event, this day is implemented to promote the Olympic values throughout the world on the basis of the three pillars “move, learn and discover”.

Move

Encourage people to be active on Olympic Day. Move can refer to all kinds of physical activities intended for people of all ages, regardless of ability.

Learn

Olympic Day is an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of sport to major social issues that affect your community such as education, health promotion, HIV prevention, empowerment of women and girls, protection of environment, peace building and community development. Being a responsible citizen is also part of the philosophy of Olympism.

Learn More

This pillar is an incentive to discover new sports and activities never done before.

Hence the interest of organizing this type of event. "The school rugby party" organized by Andy Armongon, Baptiste, Jean-Luc Blancafort and many other people (they will recognize each other) won over the young students, all happy to discover the world of rugby. A day as we love them! _AF
