On Saturday January 18, around 17:30 p.m., KPSM immigration personnel at Princess Juliana Airport noticed that a man, identified with the initials PA, tried to enter the territory of Sint Maarten with a falsified French residence permit.
The individual, of Haitian origin, had just arrived from Haiti on a regional flight. Upon further inspection of the document by KPSM immigration staff, it was observed that the document was most likely forged.
The suspect was turned over to Alpha team personnel, who checked the document and confirmed that the document was indeed a forgery.
After confiscating his papers, PA was transferred to the Philipsburg police station where he was placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation. _AF
