Hospital: striking staff calls on the population to support them

All nursing staff at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital center must present a vaccine schedule against covid-19 by October, otherwise they will be suspended. This is the instruction given to them by the management of the establishment in September. In addition, the authorities have imposed locally the obligation to present the health pass to be able to access the hospital but also the nursing home (except in case of emergency). This applies to Saint-Martin but also to Saint-Barthélemy.

Some of the staff are on strike to denounce these two measures. Thursday morning, employees recalled that they "used their right to strike" to demonstrate against the vaccine obligation in general. Yesterday, they met with the management of the CH and notably discussed the challenges in terms of operation if all the staff are not operational; to date about half of the workforce has not been vaccinated. "She told us that the law was the law ... But then why in Guadeloupe the management said that it could not do without all its staff", they wonder.

In addition, the striking personnel ensure that they do not block access to the hospital: “contrary to what has been said, we allow ambulances, delivery trucks and our colleagues who are not on strike to pass. and who will work. "

Finally, they invite the population to come and support them on Monday.
