Gospel choirs are renowned in the United States, and one of the most famous will perform on the island on Sunday: the Harlem Gospel Choir, organizers announced. The concert will take place at the Westin Ballroom, on the Dutch side, at 18 p.m. The group was founded "on Martin Luther King's birthday, January 15, 1986 by Allen Bailey, and has 65 members, ranging in age from 17 to 70". The group sang for, among others, Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, Nelson Mandela, Elton John and Paul McCartney. The members will continue their tour in Guyana on March 29 and 30, and in Martinique on April 1.
