Strike: The demonstrators sowed chaos at the Agrément roundabout for several hours!

Yesterday morning began the general unlimited strike. The roads were not blocked, except at the Agrément roundabout. To the chagrin of motorists!

Dams were erected everywhere by the strikers. "We intervened immediately to free traffic," confirmed Lieutenant Colonel Sébastien Manzoni. "As soon as rubbish, trash cans or car carcasses are installed on the roads, they are removed as and when", indicated the Prefect early yesterday morning.

At around 8:30 am, the demonstrators marched via Galisbay from the Marigot Sea Front towards the Agrément roundabout where they asked the gendarmes to occupy the site for a few minutes. In the end, they stayed for several hours and blocked traffic, causing huge traffic jams!

The demonstrators demanded to be received at the Prefecture, under penalty of blocking the public road all day.

The prefect finally agreed to receive them late yesterday afternoon.

Sylvie Feucher, on the other hand, was firm: she decided to welcome a delegation on the condition that they free the roundabout. If the commitment was not respected, it would not have received the delegation and would have ordered the gendarmes to unblock traffic.

Furthermore, the CTOS agents in the central kitchen were not on strike yesterday morning, they produced meals for the children. Only delivery to schools in Marigot and Concordia could not be made due to the blockage at Agrément.

The COM was also open to the public, the agents not being on strike._AF
