Big cleanup at Kim Sha Beach

Now is the time for young people to roll up their sleeves. The organizers of the St. Maarten Regatta are calling on 5-18 year olds on Saturday for their 5th Big Cleanup at Kim Sha Beach in Simpson Bay. This event, which will take place from 9 am to 13 pm, aims to "raise awareness among young people on the island of the impact of waste dumped into the sea". The morning will begin with a 30-minute clean-up of the site, in a team of three people. The goal of this activity is to collect as much trash as possible to try and win a prize. The Sint Maarten Nature Foundation will then organize a quiz on the effects of pollution at sea. The winning team will also receive an award. The day will end with sports activities. _EH
