Golf: French team wins post-containment recovery tournament

0

The dynamic St Maarten Golf Association (SMGA) organized last Saturday the first “post-containment” competition on the dry golf course of Mullet Bay which had nevertheless regained some timid colors following the recent downpours.

About sixty players had the pleasure of meeting and “re-swinging” on the only golf course currently available - the island of Anguilla being closed -, after this period of abstinence common to all practitioners of 'group sports activities.

The formula was the same as the Christmas scramble, the 4 players of each team placing and playing their ball where the best ball is from the previous stroke of each of the 4 players.

In this formula, also called “Louisiana at 4”, the scores are often below par. This was verified again on Saturday, as the winning team played -9 in net (-7) in gross.

And this team which won first place among the many players of the SMGA is the one made up of the “Tamarins” Anne-Marie Bouillé, Yannick Cazemajou, Yvon Springer and Laurent Mesguich.

It should be noted that several other teams (including other Tamarins) were placed one stroke from the winners, and therefore finished in 2nd position.

Bravo to the winners!
