GOLF: The 2022 “Concordia Cup” this weekend

0

This match-play golf competition sees golfers from the Dutch side compete against those from the French side each year during the weekend of November 11, the feast day of Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten and the Treaty of Concordia. .

This year the competition takes place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November on a course that has been greened by the recent rains.

For this 2022 edition, the lack of carts (6 remaining out of the 20 received after Irma) will force many players to complete the course on foot, so that there will only be one round of 18 holes on Saturday in normal departures, the first from 8am.

The players will play 9 holes in the 4-ball format (on each hole the best score of the 2 players from each team is taken, each playing their own ball) and 9 holes in the "foursome" format (the 2 players hit the same ball alternately until the end of the hole).

The next day, Sunday, will be the match-play” from 8 a.m. in “shot gun” this time, with 18 individual games, for a potential of 18 points to be won in total.

A "surinam lunch" (Bami / nasi / sate springrolls) will be served to participants after the proclamation of the results around 12 noon.

The results will be published in Faxinfo and Waa'ppen next week. _AH
