The Collectivity of Saint-Martin informs the population of the opening of the animal pound from Monday January 24 to Monday February 7, 2022. The animal pound's mission is to capture stray dogs on the public domain of the Collectivity.
Animal owners are therefore requested to keep them tied up and supervise them, before, during and after the capture phase.

• Territorial decree
Order No. 033-2014, regulating the conditions of detention of pets and their circulation on public roads, prohibits the wandering of animals on the territory of the Collectivity. To avoid any accident, dogs when they have an owner must be kept on a leash and so-called dangerous dogs must be muzzled.
Dog owners are required to pick up their pet's droppings on public roads, including in gutters, on beaches and in public green spaces.
It should be noted that this decree also prohibits the placing of food on the public highway to attract stray or wild animals.
