More than 100 tonnes of survival, protective and medical equipment were dispatched, in coordination with regional organizations, CARICOM: Caribbean Community, CDEMA, IMPACS and aid organizations such as the World Food Program, the PIRAC - French Red Cross and the French Development Agency.

An exceptional health context

An extraordinary year due to the Covid-19 epidemic to which has been added that of dengue. As of March, the health risk forced the army to adapt its operating methods: redeployment of the 33rd RIMa on 3 different sites so as to limit the risk of contagion while maintaining the training programs or even the implementation place ship unloading protocols in compliance with health rules of social distancing.

The Dixmude arrived in the French West Indies with nearly 140 tons of equipment and disinfection specialists from the 2nd Dragon Regiment and army health service professionals.

Under the leadership of the American army, the Dumont d'Urville delivered 35 tons of humanitarian cargo from CDCS. and PIRAC, loaded in Guadeloupe, and then transported 21 tonnes of food from the World Food Program to a landlocked coastal area of Honduras.
