It's official! In the presence of the president of the Saint-Martin Football League, Aristide Conner and his counterpart of the Sint Maarten Football Federation, Johnny Singh took place last Sunday at the Grand Case Beach Club the official presentation of the "SXM Elite Championship". A new “Elite” championship, as its name suggests, which will pit the four best French and Dutch teams against each other.

“We have wanted to set up a championship bringing together the best clubs from both parts of the island for years”, underlines Aristide Conner, the president of the League of Saint-Martin. “Today (note, last Sunday), we are happy to announce the establishment of the “SXM Elite Championship” which will bring together eight teams (4 from Saint-Martin) and (4 from Sint Maarten). The goal of this new competition is to take football on the island upwards and to see the stands of the stadiums (Thelbert Carti in Quartier d'Orléans and Raoul Illidge on the Dutch side) copiously furnished again”.

Beautiful game in perspective
