FOOTBALL: The Saint-Martin league is investing in priority neighborhoods!

Following the call for projects launched jointly by the CGET (General Commissariat for the Equality of Territories) and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin within the framework of the City Policy, a subsidy was granted to the Football League of Saint-Martin for the development of sport in the so-called priority districts. 

The City Policy aims to "reduce development gaps, restore republican equality in disadvantaged neighborhoods and improve the living conditions of their inhabitants". The Football League has deployed several actions over the months to respond optimally to the objectives set, including:

- Improvement sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16 p.m. to 18 p.m. for young people aged 11 to 15.

- Women's training sessions on Thursdays from 17 p.m. to 18 p.m. for young people aged 30 to 6.

- Women's training sessions on Thursdays from 18 p.m. to 30 p.m. for over 20s.

- Initiation and discovery actions of women's football to encourage young girls to dismiss themselves.

- The establishment of a 100% football day on December 17, 2016 where more than 100 young people aged 6 to 10 years attended.

- The implementation of actions to raise awareness of football values ​​such as fair play, respect for others, tolerance, pleasure, commitment and solidarity.

- The establishment of technical and administrative support for clubs in so-called priority neighborhoods.

To close the season and the City Policy project, Ms. MH Coutant, Head of Social Cohesion and Population Protection, Fabrice Baly, President of the Football League as well as Ms. T. Louis, elected member of the League Council , were present on Tuesday, June 27 at the Thelbert Carti stadium to give sports equipment, including soccer shoes and shin guards, to twenty or so poorest players in the Orleans district.
