Nine years after its last final, 53 after its last continental coronation, Italy is back!
The Squadra qualified last night for the Euro final at the expense of Spain in a tense match that was decided on penalties (1-1, 4-2 tab). The Italians were less flamboyant than against Belgium but they were solid and now await their opponent: England or Denmark.
Favorite England
England and Denmark face off at Wembley tonight (15pm SXM) for a place in the final after taking very different paths to reach the semi-finals.
As England became the first team not to concede a goal in their first five Euro games, beating Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter-finals, Denmark recovered from defeats in of each of his first two matches to win the next three and reach the last four thanks to a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in Baku. Which of the two teams will qualify for the final on Sunday against Italy? That is the question. _AF
