If everyone hopes that the year 2023 will bring good news, here is already one that will delight the population of Saint-Martin and passing tourists: the famous Tuesdays of Grand-Case return from this January 31, for 12 editions .

A veritable cultural institution both in terms of tourism and economics which will celebrate its twentieth anniversary this year, the Tuesdays of Grand-Case are the meeting not to be missed to immerse yourself in the festive and spectacular world of Saint-Martin with a good incomparable mood. Well known for its carnival parade where the magnificent costumes rival world famous carnivals, the island's flagship event brings together thousands of people in the district renowned for its gastronomy and its festive spirit. After the cancellation of the 2022 edition due to health restrictions incompatible with the very identity of Mardis de Grand-Case, this year will mark the great return of this singular market with indisputable fame. Despite the timidity of the sponsors, the organization intends to put the small dishes in the big ones to mark the occasion of the 20 years of existence. From January 31 to April 25, Grand-Case will shine in a thousand colors with a different parade every Tuesday, musical entertainment with Creole sounds and the hundred or so stands of local designers where handcrafted jewelry, ready-to-wear, decoration, paintings, but also culinary specialties, arranged rums and other typical products will be discovered for the greatest pleasure of all. In addition to the entertainment and the many Saint-Martin talents, some of whom are performing there for the first time thanks to the open stage, the Mardis de Grand-Case, which this year is collaborating with the SXM Festival and the Carnival of Saint-Martin, put highlight the richness of the culture of our territory with the Caribbean touches of which only they have the secret. For Chantal Vernusse, president of Calypso Event in charge of this event, whose provisional expenditure budget for 2023 is €201.000 with 30% self-financing, the Friendly Island must be revived by restoring its colors of yesteryear "it seems to me essential to unite our forces and our energy to make this island vibrate as it did before". Any sponsor is invited to join the organizing team so that the 2023 edition surpasses the previous ones. Les Mardis de Grand-Case is also part of an eco-responsible approach with stands dedicated to associations and professionals in the environmental sector, dry toilets and an invitation to carpool. The popularity of this event will certainly increase in this new year given the impatience felt within the population. Every Tuesday from 18 p.m. to 23 p.m. from January 31, the atmosphere will be festive, convivial and sharing, three characteristics dear to the Mardis de Grand-Case. _VX
