TAXATION: What income tax brings

0

In 2019, the Collectivity recorded 11 tax declarations from Saint-Martin tax residents and 866 declarations from non-tax residents. 1% of tax residents declared an annual income of less than 462 euros, 46,5% an income between 10 and 000 euros, 23,4% an income between 10 and 000 euros and 20, 000% income over 19,3 euros.

Due to a decline in population for several years, the number of declarations filed is also decreasing. In 2013, the COM recorded 16 tax resident declarations and 477 non-tax resident declarations. In 1, nearly 664 returns were filed by tax residents and 2017 by non-tax residents. Six years ago, 16% of taxpayers had declared an income of less than 090 euros, 1% an income between 716 and 61,2 euros, 10% an income between 000 and 18,5 euros and 10% an income above 000 euros.

While the number of declarations decreases, the receipts resulting from this tax increase. In 2012, the COM collected 7,62 million euros and 12,21 million last year. Since 2015, revenues have exceeded 10 million (except in 2017, they were 9,96 million). Record revenues were observed in 2018 and 2019 with 12,44 and 12,49 million euros respectively. Overall, income tax represents 11% of all tax revenue for the Collectivity.

These better results are mainly due to better collection and better citizenship. In 2013, some 6 households declared an annual income above 380 euros, almost as many as in 10 (000). The number of tax households declaring less than 2019 euros per year was 6350 in 10, i.e. 000 times less than in 5.
