Saint-Martin was in celebration on Sunday with its wonderful carnival back after two years of absence. This is how a colorful and cheerful swarm of more than 600 children, parents and carers marched through the streets of Marigot. To the delight of the many public massed throughout the course.
This first children's parade was all the more appreciated by the young revelers as they were waiting for this moment of release with great impatience, after two years of forced rest linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was therefore the effervescence on Sunday when more than 600 children representing several schools on the island strolled in the city center. Multicolored costumes and masks were out for this happy afternoon. Several decorated and animated floats also came to join the procession.
Each school presented beautiful choreographies under different themes to the jury. The results of the competition will be announced during the Mardi Gras parade on February 21.
In the meantime, it is appropriate to congratulate the organizers who worked to ensure the smooth running of this festive moment appreciated by all.
Congratulations also to the children, teachers and parents who showed their imagination and creativity in making the costumes and floats. _AF
