This Wednesday, August 17, a man died after being shot in the chest by an unknown gunman on Sister Modesta Road, Simpson Bay.
At around 14:20 p.m., the Sint Maarten Police (KPSM) telephone exchange received several calls reporting a shooting in Simpson Bay. Several patrols and ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the tragedy. When they arrived, paramedics found a man with gunshot wounds to the chest. The police were informed that the victim died soon after from the fatal injury. The reasons for the shooting are not yet clear and the suspect has not been identified. Police officers searched the neighborhood for suspected suspects, to no avail.
Police forensic technicians went to the scene of the crime to collect evidence and clues. The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
