Tuesday, May 8, around 23 p.m., police patrols, inspectors and forensic scientists from Sint Maarten are heading to Aaron Jacob Drive in Cape Bay after being informed of a shooting and of the presence of the lifeless body of a man wounded by gunshots .
When they arrived, the inspectors discovered the body of a man riddled with bullets, whose identity has not yet been revealed, given the investigation under way.
A security perimeter is immediately demarcated and the investigators question any witnesses while the forensic science proceeds to a statement of evidence.
The death of the victim is pronounced by a forensic doctor and the body is confiscated for the investigation.
Sint Maarten police say that the cause of the shooting and its perpetrator remain unknown at this time. The population will be informed of the progress of the survey.
