Well known in the world of Martinican football, Jean-Manuel Nedra, 29-year-old midfielder playing for the club L'Aiglon du Lamentin (Regional 1), was arrested with his partner on December 31 at Roissy airport with more than 100 kg of cocaine concealed in the suitcases. AFP revealed the information after learning it from the Bobigny prosecutor's office.
The two travelers arrived from Fort-de-France. They were checked by customs officers, who discovered 50,7 kg and 53 kg of cocaine respectively in their luggage.
The couple was presented on Wednesday January 4 to an investigating judge in charge of the investigation. The player was placed in pre-trial detention and his companion released under judicial supervision. The athlete, imprisoned, has also been a member of the Martinican football team for more than 10 years. He was traveling in a personal capacity when he was arrested.
Hugues Parsemain, president of the Aiglon du Lamentin spoke in a press release. “Unfortunately, bad news that you have heard or will certainly hear: the scourge of drugs is rampant here as elsewhere. Without knowing his degree of involvement, we learned that one of our players was arrested at Roissy for drug smuggling...
