On Friday, September 11, an individual with a gunshot wound in the face went to the emergency room at Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) at around 19 p.m. The security service of the hospital alerted the police stating that a person had a gunshot wound.
Personnel from the detective and forensic service headed for the hospital and while the victim was being treated, they searched his vehicle which was in the SMMC parking lot, looking for clues to the facts. which had performed on LB Scott Road.
Once the victim was treated, she was able to give a statement which later led to an arrest. The KPSM detectives went to the home of the shooter on Sunday, September 13, where he was arrested after having put up some resistance to the police.
An investigation is underway to determine the reasons and circumstances of the shooting. _AF
