Ln Saturday, June 11, the association of Compagnons Bâtisseurs invites the inhabitants of Saint Martin to their “Open Doors” day which will take place in Quartier d'Orléans.
Active in the area since 2018, the Compagnons Bâtisseurs have been busy ever since. Main actors in the reconstruction of residential frameworks and roofs after the passage of Hurricane Irma, the educational handymen have settled permanently on the island in order to continue their work of solidarity and sharing with the population thanks to a multi-annual and multi-party agreement between the Fondation de France (major funder of the association) and the Collectivité. Accompanied Self-Rehabilitation Worksites (ARA), neighborhood workshops (at Sandy Ground and in Quartier d'Orléans) with collective activities related to DIY, home renovation and home beautification, or even the loan of tools and educational troubleshooting, the Compagnons Bâtisseurs want to pass on their knowledge in a logic of citizen and participative approach. During this “Open Doors” day, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end around 17 p.m., residents will be able to discover the actions and activities offered by the association and take part in discussions and the many activities led by employees, volunteers and volunteers. Children and young people will have the opportunity to play football, table tennis and try their hand at sack racing. A giant iron and paper sculpture creation workshop and a giant wooden oxo game will interest budding artists. An exhibition of the "Habit'Art" project will honor the inhabitants of Saint-Martin at the very heart of their homes. There will obviously also be an information and orientation stand for the curious and music and refreshments for everyone. _VX
