Study of nurse sharks in our waters

Why do nurse sharks come every year? This is the question that the Nature Reserve of Saint-Martin is trying to answer. For this, the team has just welcomed Nicolas, an intern from the Guadeloupe Shark Study Network (ReGuaR). “He works to observe the unfolding and identify the causes of the annual gathering of nurse sharks. It now seems evident that these individuals are adult females, who come to complete their gestation in our warmer coastal waters. ” As you can see, these sharks need peace of mind: "So thank you for avoiding any harassment of these individuals, which could be a source of accident or of modification of this behavior that we are only just beginning to know better." _EH
