COMPANY / A restaurant rebuilt without a license

The three restaurants located on Nettle Bay beach were completely destroyed by Hurricane Irma. If the Sand and the Dream have not yet been rebuilt, this is not the case for the Ma Ti Beach.

Its construction began more than seven months ago. But without license or DPI. The town planning departments confirm this in the Thalassa program broadcast Monday on France 3. "These works are completely illegal," says Vincent Rodriguez. "But in Saint-Martin we think we can do anything and that we will not be worried about the law," he said. The manager of the restaurant was however very happy.

In August 2018, the town planning departments drew up a report on this site which, in addition to the reconstruction also includes a permanent extension. The report was sent to the prosecution the following month. The deputy prosecutor then ordered a gendarmerie investigation.

The vice-prosecutor is awaiting the results of the investigation to decide on the legal proceedings to be brought against the manager.
