In the so-called dog poisoning case, a 39-year-old man was arrested and placed under judicial supervision on December 29.
He is summoned to the local court of Saint-Martin at today's hearing for having committed "serious abuse or acts of cruelty to a domestic animal, tamed or captive" on the night of September 16 to 17. He is also accused of destroying the property of others in a meeting during the same night. The penalty is three years' imprisonment and a fine of 45 euros. The criminal procedure code specifies that when the facts have led to the death of the animal, the penalties are increased to five years' imprisonment and a fine of 000 euros.
Finally, in this case, 13 people and 2 associations including the SPA and the Foundation 30 million friends are also summoned as victims.
