The results of the election of employee representatives for very small businesses were announced last Friday. In Saint-Martin, the UGTG is coming head on!

This election, intended to measure the audience of union organizations among the 4,5 million employees of companies with fewer than 11 employees and homeworkers, ended on January 20. The National Commission for Voting Operations met today, in the presence of the trade union organizations, to proclaim the results and announce that more than 330 employees of very small businesses and homeworkers had taken part in this poll, representing a participation rate. 000%.

The regional voting operations commission of Guadeloupe, St. Martin and St. Barthélémy also met to proclaim the local results.

- In Guadeloupe, 1 employees voted. The participation rate is 794%.

- In Saint Martin, 118 employees voted, the participation rate is 3,66%

- In Saint Barthélémy, 32 employees voted, the participation rate is 1,52%.

Unions have a key role in the daily life of very small and home-based workers: leave, minimum wage, training. Even without employee representatives in the company, they benefit from union action and major social reforms; they often have a collective agreement specific to their sector of activity.

The results of this election will make it possible to designate:

- the union which will represent the employees for the next 4 years to negotiate the working conditions.

- employees who will sit on regional inter-professional joint committees (CPRI). Present in the regions, the members of the CPRIs inform and advise employees and companies on labor rights. They can also make proposals for social and cultural activities.

- labor advisers who settle individual disputes related to the employment contract.

- These elections, which for the first time allow all VSE employees to be represented on the inter-professional joint committees at regional level created by the “Rebsamen” law of August 17, 2015, contribute to significant progress in our social democracy . These results will be incorporated into the measurement of the audience of trade unions, which will be presented at the end of March to the social partners meeting within the High Council for Social Dialogue. They will be added to the votes cast by trade unions during professional elections organized in companies with at least 11 employees and during elections to departmental chambers of agriculture. National and regional results are available on the website election-tpe.travail.gouv.fr.
