EEASM: Decryption of your water bill!

0

The invoices issued by SAUR are currently arriving in the mailboxes of subscribers.

These invoices bear modifications which are worth explaining:

1. Changing the so-called “slice” system

Drinking water was before the change in the delegation of public service invoiced according to the volume of consumption per quarter in 3 tranches: from 0 to 30 m3, from 30 to 67 m3 and beyond 67 m3 with a price of 5,36 respectively , € 3 / m10,78, € 3 / m14,97 and € 3 / mXNUMX.

The tranches have been reduced to two, from 0 to 30 m3 and beyond 30 m3, and the respective prices of 4,70 € / m3 and 9,40 € / m3 constitute a significant drop in the price of the water in Saint-Martin.

2. The charge for sanitation

For several years, the EEASM has been part of a vast and costly infrastructural catch-up plan for sanitation, an important part of the public service mission perfectly framed by law. The approach taken by the establishment is consistent with that of the DOM Water Plan, which will materialize by the end of the year with the signing of a progress contract. It is also a necessary consideration of the environment in Saint-Martin. Global reports, European and national obligations as well as the increase in land pressure in recent decades require that the effort in terms of sanitation continues and intensifies.

The explanations…

In Saint-Martin, for an average of 69 liters of water consumed, 150 liters of water are discharged into the collective sanitation network. This differential is mainly explained by the domestic use of tank water but also by a significant theft of water, a phenomenon against which Saur is developing a control program.

This fee called “EEASM Part” therefore appears on your invoice and will allow the EEASM to continue its action in the field of sanitation for the benefit of the environment. It is made up of a quarterly fixed part of € 5,00 and a variable part indexed to the volume of water consumed (€ 0,15 / m3).

Benchmark: On your invoice, the financial contribution addressed to the EEASM is approximately 25%. The Court of Auditors notes in a report that at the national level, the share intended for municipalities is around 25 to 40%.

Note that the important diagnostic work already initiated with users will enable the Delegatee, Saur, to effectively invoice the tax linked to sanitation only to consumers actually connected to the collective sanitation network (or who would have the possibility of l 'be).

If this evolution of the fee, even for sanitation and the environment, may not be welcomed, the EEASM wishes to specify that for equal consumption, the price of water including fees remains below what it would have been without change of Delegatee.

In the event of a dispute with regard to your invoice and since the change of delegate cannot be done without even a minimal share of errors, Saur has set up a dedicated service which is available to you at 5 Rue Léopold Mingau in Concordia.
