Graduation is a significant moment and an important step in the life of a young bachelor. The Collectivity of Saint Martin had organized a reception worthy of the event in its gardens with the “Evening of the Laureates” on Saturday July 23rd.

The officials wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world: Louis Mussington, president of the Collectivité, vice-presidents Alain Richardson, Bernadette Davis, Dominique Louisy (in charge of the Human Development Delegation, of which education is a part) and Michel Petit , Martine Beldor, member of the executive council, the territorial councilors including Raphaël Sanchez, senator Annick Pétrus and finally, Vincent Berton, delegate prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin, invited by the president for the occasion. Organized by the Youth and Sport department, the Department of Education, Cultural Action and the events and technical department of the COM and sponsored by Air Caraïbes, Sound Masters and Skyfall Fireworks, the Laureates' Evening highlighted the success of 150 young graduates for their remarkable course of study.

Dressed in the black toga for the occasion and wearing the mortarboard, the young people made their entrance into the gardens and settled in front of the Collectivity. The French and Saint-Martin national anthem “O Sweet Saint Martin's Land” was then sung by the assembly, with the hand traditionally placed on the heart. During his speech, the president of the Collectivité warmly congratulated the winners:

"You have understood that I attach great importance to this graduation, because beyond a demonstration of recognition, this evening's demonstration sends a clear signal to the entire population: objective, result, efficiency are the key words of our action. Performance – you are all proof here – is not an exotic word, but a living reality! ".

The Laureates Evening hosted by Angelo Buret and Jennique Gibbs, former members of the Territorial Youth Council, continued with the awarding of diplomas by section: professional, technological, general baccalaureate, and higher education. After their passage on the stage, the winners were invited to go through the Photo booth installed on the stage side to immortalize the moment, diploma in hand. A bag of gifts was also given to each of them, gifts chosen according to their specialty. Despite a heavy rain around 20 p.m., the ceremony continued until its end, leaving the eyes of the parents present filled with pride. Congratulations again to the 150 graduates of the class of 2022!_VX
