Education: Alumni ready to meet high school students

“Many graduates from Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth drop out of school, a few months, a few years after the bac, because of the difficulties. We were both in the same class, in general high school, a socio-economically heterogeneous class. However, whatever the background, rich or poor, we have all encountered the same obstacles. So we decided to act, ”say Cécile et Caunes and Jemi Van Dijk. In 2015, these two Saint-Martin residents and one of their metropolitan friends therefore created their association of alumni.

Their first mission is to organize a major annual meeting. They bring Saint-Martin alumni to the high school students, their parents and the teachers on the third Saturday in December. This event, named Project SXM, the third since the creation of the association, will take place this Saturday, December 22 at the CCISM at 14 p.m.
