After the reopening, on Monday, May 18 of elementary schools for the levels of CP, CE1 and CM2, the colleges will reopen their doors, as of this Monday, May 25, for the classes of 6nd and 5nd.

The meetings on the reopening of the schools of Saint-Martin, which have been held for the past two weeks, have thus resulted in the reopening of these 5 levels of education, considered to be priorities in terms of learning and acquisition of fundamental knowledge for academic achievement.

To ensure a recovery in maximum health security conditions for students and staff, the community has disinfected all school buildings. This operation was carried out within the framework of a public market, by a specialized and approved company regarding the regulatory health protocols implemented at national level to fight against the spread of Covid-19.

The technical services of the community also carried out repairs of electricity, plumbing and ventilation, in the rooms and the toilets, for an optimal reception of the pupils and supervisors.

Schools have been prepared for the reception of students (liquid soap, hydroalcoholic gel, marking on the ground, respect for physical distances), in classrooms, dining rooms and toilets. The personnel will all be equipped with masks and provided with protective equipment.

CTOS will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of hot meals every day. Meals will be taken in accordance with the rules of distancing, barrier gestures and in a small group. In order to avoid a concentration of students and any health risk, a clockwise rotation in each of the canteens will be implemented if necessary.

Aware of the socio-economic difficulties experienced by families and to limit health risks, the Collectivity will pay for the meals of students and supervisory staff. This exceptional measure will end with the end of the school year.

Middle school students will be able to return to the benches of their college from Monday, May 25, according to the schedule that will be communicated to families by the principals of the three colleges. Please note that school transport will not be activated.

All college students and staff will have a mask in accordance with the health protocol.

This shared decision to reopen by level of education meets the specific educational needs of students in Saint-Martin. President Daniel Gibbs and his executive have insisted throughout the discussions on their desire to take no risk for students and staff and to ensure that the strictest health and safety measures will be applied within the framework the reopening of schools.
