the 1er tournament of the 2022-2023 season finally took place in Cupecoy. While everyone was expecting another victory for Yashwant Vaswani, it was a newcomer to the Saint-Martin chess scene who largely dominated the debates.
Milo Scheeren had however claimed not to have played chess for a long time. On arrival, he thwarted all predictions to win brilliantly ahead of the favourites.
The tournament had a very international connotation with the 3rd place of the Polish Dawid Baszak who now aspires to take his revenge at the next tournament scheduled for next October.
