The territorial unit of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy of the Guadeloupe Sea Directorate has launched a public consultation on the Antilles Basin Strategy Document (DSB).

The Antilles Basin Strategy Document (DSB) is the reference framework and the tool for implementing public policies concerning the sea and the coast. This document is a local variation of the national strategy for the sea and the coast, adapted to the scale of the Antilles grouping together Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. It is the result of concerted work between the various actors of the maritime world (State, Collectivities and public establishments, socio-professionals, associations for the protection of the environment and users of the sea and the coast, experts, etc.), present within of the Ultramarine Maritime Council of the Antilles Basin (CMUBA), under the presidency of the prefects of Guadeloupe and Martinique, and under vice-presidency of the prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin.

The objective of the DSB is to guarantee the good ecological state of the marine environment while enhancing the coastline and the socio-economic activities which depend on it. For easier understanding, the DSB is presented in the form of 10 thematic sheets (fishing, boating, port activities, maritime training, cooperation, natural resources, etc.).

The documents concerning the DSB are available to the public until February 24, 2021 on the websites of the Direction de la Mer de la Martinique et de la Guadeloupe.

You can submit your observations and proposals electronically to the following address: secretariat-cmuba@developpement-durable.gouv.fr

At the end of the public consultation phase, a report of the observations and proposals made by the public will be published.
