It is not with their feet in the water but behind bars that two American tourists are currently spending their vacation at the Philipsburg police station.
The American couple will long remember their eventful stay in Sint Maarten. Since Sunday, May 23, the man and woman have been in cells at the Philipsburg police station for threatening the lives of bar workers, engaging in disruptive behavior in public and causing property damage. The woman is also being prosecuted for assaulting a police officer.
Their hardly romantic stay was extended by eight days last Wednesday by the examining magistrate.
It remains to be seen how long these tourists will stay behind bars. Their night trip risks costing them dearly, whatever happens! _AF
