Refreshment works for the Ehpad

The Ehpad (Accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people) Bethany Home will benefit from some work. Established since the 1990s in Galisbay, the establishment is not suitable for the reception of the elderly.

A public contract has thus been launched to designate an architect who will supervise this project. There are plans to improve circulation in the building, in particular by installing a new elevator. The rooms will also be refreshed. Eventually, 38 places will be available against 32 currently. The landscaping will also be improved to provide a more pleasant living environment for residents and more comfortable working conditions for staff.

In the longer term, the Ehpad must move to a new building which will be built for. But this file, which dates back more than ten years, is dragging on. The Community must designate a site where the ARS and the hospital can start the work. This future establishment must also accommodate reception services for people with disabilities. Services that do not exist today in Saint-Martin. The objective is to include it in the health center project which should bring together the hospital center, the private clinic and the future Ehpad. _pc
