Air travel in the French Antilles: Important details from the Prefecture

0

The defense and national security council of September 23 classified Guadeloupe as a maximum alert zone while the territories of Martinique and Saint-Martin were categorized as alert zones.

In order to protect each of these territories from imported cases of Covid-19 and reduce the flow of travelers, the prefects of Guadeloupe and Martinique have decided to modify the measures applicable to the movement of people by air and by sea between Martinique, Saint-Martin and Guadeloupe, from Thursday October 1, 2020.

Travel between Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint-Martin is prohibited unless they are based on an overriding personal or family reason, an emergency health reason or a professional reason that cannot be postponed. These new conditions do not apply to passengers in transit to and from Paris.

Travelers must present to the maritime carrier or the airline, before boarding, a declaration on honor of the reason for the trip (available on the websites of the prefectures of Guadeloupe and Martinique or by clicking on the following link for Guadeloupe https://bit.ly/33bfbOF; the following link for Martinique: https://bit.ly/2HKXSvP or the following link for Saint-Martin: http://www.saint-barthsaint-martin.gouv.fr/Actualites/LA-UNE/Actualites/Covid-19-Conditions-d-entree-par-voie-aerienne-et-maritime ) as well as one or more supporting documents. Checks will be made on arrival.

Failure to comply with these measures is punishable by a fixed fine of 135 €, increased in the event of a repeat offense.

These decrees are applicable until further notice and will be reviewed according to the evolution of the health situation.
