Cyclone Dorian: The human toll is increasing in the Bahamas, the hurricane now runs along the American East Coast!

At least seven people died in the Bahamas and the northwest of the archipelago is completely devastated.

The extent of the human drama and the material disaster is becoming clearer. Dorian has killed at least seven people in the Bahamas while part of the archipelago is devastated. Meanwhile, the hurricane continues on the American East Coast.

At least 7 dead in the Bahamas

The death toll from Dorian's passage to the northwest of the Bahamas is still seven dead. A previous count reported five victims. "We can expect more deaths, this is preliminary information," said Prime Minister Hubert Minnis.

At least 61 people are in need of food aid, according to the United Nations (UN).

> Huge material damage

Dorian has almost parked for 24 hours on the Abacos and Grand Bahama islands when he was classified in category 5, the most powerful. It thus caused very serious and numerous damages since the wind and the rain had largely the time to destroy and to flood.

Dorian, off the  USA remains dangerous

As he moved away from the Bahamas and began to climb north, Dorian weakened. Yesterday, it was classified in category 2. The wind was blowing at an average of 165 km / h for one minute. Despite less violent winds, Dorian has grown in size and therefore remains very dangerous. If its precise trajectory remains complex to predict, it was to approach "dangerously close" to Florida last night, before skirting the Southeast American coast and the states of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

By this weekend, he will go up the entire East Coast to Canada. Weakened, perhaps even become tropical storm again, Dorian will then pass on the French territory of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

In the United States, the two states of Carolina present the highest risk of flooding, said the NHC, with from 13 cm to 25 cm of rain and waves from 1,2 m to more than 2 m high.

Dorian's eye must pass "near or above" their ribs between Thursday and Friday morning. Several million people have been ordered to evacuate threatened areas in the United States.
