At the heart of this intense competition, it was Carty Jahkim, originally from Saint-Martin in agreement with the VCSG/CCD Club of Boris Carène, who thrilled the supporters by winning the last stage in the sprint and winning the coveted title of best young runner. A spectacular victory which capped off an exciting week of cycling.

 

Jahkim, a talent emerging from Saint-Martin

Carty Jahkim, young prodigy from Saint-Martin, demonstrated his power and talent during the fifth and final stage of the Gwad Avenir Tour 2023. As the riders set off for a thrilling final sprint, Jahkim gave the best of him -even to cross the finish line in first position. This impressive victory not only marked the end of the tour in style but also allowed Jahkim to grab the best young rider jersey, rewarding his excellent performance throughout the competition.

Jahkim, who raced under the colors of Boris Carrière's VCSG/CCD Club, demonstrated great mastery of sprinting techniques, his ability to withstand pressure and his incredible endurance. His success at the end of the last stage was greeted by a delirious crowd, who applauded this promising young cyclist from Saint-Martin.

The Gwad Avenir Tour 2023 highlighted Jahkim's talent, and his victory in the best young riders category is a crucial step in his career. As cycling in the Caribbean continues to grow in popularity, Jahkim is destined to become a name to watch on the international stage, and his outstanding performance in Guadeloupe is undeniable proof.
