In its approach of continuity of the promotion of the history and the culture of the island of Saint Martin, the Cultural and Sporting Association ZEPIN carried out its second edition entitled: meeting with the history around activities of leisures and culinary events on Sunday January 29.

This event began on the historic site of Emilio's Park, a former sugar plantation. In this idyllic setting, first, there was a visit to the Emilio Johan Wilson museum, recounting the life of this hard-working man with a big heart and protector of nature; and also the different historical periods that marked the genesis of the island with unpredictable anecdotes. Then, the participants were able to discover or rediscover the joys of altitude through the activities of the park (zipline and surprising view at the top of Sentry hill by chairlifts). Finally, conviviality through culinary flavors prepared by the chef of the Emilio restaurant. The raffle that followed created a most unexpected emulation, coupled with winners delighted with prizes from sponsors Nectar, Chays restaurant, La classe leather goods boutique, Cozy store, Moringa cuisine & bar, Mer sea, and support for the association.

This event is part of the 2023 History Caravan, initiated by ACS ZEPIN to make everyone aware of the history of the place where they live, or where they were born, in order to better understand and live in its territory.

This Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with the association, CM1 students from the Emile Choisy school, placed in REP (Priority Education Network) took part in the history of Saint Martin with the visit of Fort Louis de Marigot . Searching for clues in fun form, quizzes were on the program for the day. A visit made in partnership with the territorial archives of the Collectivity of Saint Martin.

The ACS ZEPIN, thanks the 53 participants, its members and the sponsors, so that the association continues to promote cultural, artistic, sporting and educational actions on the island.

Next flagship event: heading for Tintamarre and its story told (3rd edition) in March 2023.
