Culture "The wall of life", more…

A while ago, we told you about the “wall of life” at the Mercure hotel. Thus, an artist, had named the wall of the hotel which was dedicated to pictorial art. We decided to follow the evolution of this work in perpetual motion.

This time, we met Nicolas and Stéphane two artists who work with four hands. Like two pianists who perform a duet score, these two have been creating works for the past 5 years that they love as large as possible. They met while "graffiti". They started "on vacant lots and they find themselves in spheres they never imagined touching", as Stéphane explains to us very well. Their universes are different but undoubtedly complementary. They are constantly looking for innovation, renewal. Their art is a skilful blend of classic and ultra modern, techniques from arts and crafts and street art, abstract and figurative ... We can say, without throwing flowers at them, that 'they are the perfect reflection of their time. Today artists are no longer content with a style, a technique, a media.

They have fun with walls, canvases and clay while handling the trowel, the brush, passing by the color bomb!

“We are 4 × 4, it serves us a lot. We enriched our language. »Stéphane

They had met Alexandre Chapelain, a well-known artist on the island, in 2016 in Paris. The latter had offered to join him in Saint-Martin for a joint project. Time to organize and Irma fell on us. But nothing stops creation when it is on the way! After the Mercure hotel's decision to deliver its exterior facade to the artists, Alexandre contacted them again and they accepted. They will therefore, like others, mark Saint Martin with their imprint.

It is now done since they have created two frescoes that can be admired along the road to Nettle Bay. If you like their work, you can find out by following them on Instagram and facebook. And if, like them, you have the travel virus, you can discover their work around the world. From France to Israel via Africa, they used their bombs and their brushes almost everywhere! _NB
