Young and old are invited to visit the Amuseum Naturalis at The Old House this Sunday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Saint-Martin Nature, History and Culture Museum is celebrating the launch of its summer preview with an open house event.

Amuseum Naturalis is a museum dedicated to sharing all that Saint-Martin has that is unique. It was developed by the Les Fruits de Mer association. In 2016 and 2017, it was located in Grand-Case. The association relaunches and expands the Amuseum in the historic The Old House in Quartier d'Orléans.

“Right now, everyone is looking for interesting things to do, especially in the summer,” explains Jenn Yerkes, president of Les Fruits de Mer. “We decided to do a preview during the summer so that people can begin to benefit from the Amuseum, although we continue to develop it. ”

The summer preview includes a hall with eight exhibitions. Visitors will discover fascinating exhibits on topics such as animals found only on St. Maarten, traditional building techniques, and the tree with the world's hardest wood. They can also see projects in progress, such as the Amuseum's “bush tea” garden.

Note that the Amuseum is open Monday to Friday in July and August, from 9 a.m. to noon. Free entry.

Amuseum Naturalis at The Old House is located in Quartier d'Orléans, above the Galion. For a map and more information, visit http://amuseumnaturalis.com.
