The health bulletin published by the Dutch authorities on January 14 reports 22 new people tested positive for Covid-19. This brings the total number of active cases to 124 at the last tally, nearly double as of January 4 (68) and to 1629 cases since the start of the epidemic.

The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) are monitoring 124 people placed in isolation at their homes, all showing suspicious symptoms linked to the coronavirus.

The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 is 27.

The number of people healed since the first reported case has risen to 1478.

Otherwise, 258 other people are also under surveillance after they may have come into contact with an active case.

The dedicated team of the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA), in collaboration with the Health Care Laboratory Sint Maarten (HCLS), tested 2161 travelers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport and 11535 people across the country.

"It is imperative to respect the mandatory regulations put in place", constantly remind the health authorities, and to "scrupulously respect the rules of social distancing, especially in public places and avoid mass gatherings". _AF
