Covid-19: 112, the number of active cases is skyrocketing in Saint-Martin!

0

The latest health bulletin from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) dated Monday 23 to Sunday 29 November reports 74 new cases identified in Saint-Martin, i.e. largely more than double the number of contaminations than the previous week (26). This now brings to 112 the number of active cases confirmed in the French part and to 801 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR test since the start of the epidemic.

The Louis-Constant Fleming hospital remains very mobilized for the management of the crisis. As of November 30, 4 confirmed Covid-19 patients were hospitalized in the medical department. A medical evacuation of COVID patient was also carried out to Guadeloupe.

In addition, 385 additional tests were carried out in the laboratory and at the hospital, with a total number of 7 tests recorded since the start of the epidemic.

Drive activity continues at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital, making it possible to offer a PCR screening offer which must remain the benchmark test.

The antigen drive is now accessible at Hope Estate, open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 16 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The latter performed 269 tests over week 48, for 2 positive cases detected.

Very active circulation of the virus

The weekly incidence rate remains above the alert threshold and has been increasing since last week with a rate of 207/100 000 inhabitants (vs 81/100 00 inhabitants week 47).

Otherwise, the positivity rate over the past week is higher than the alert threshold and a marked increase compared to the previous week, it goes to 19.22% against 10,39% the previous week.

These two indicators thus confirm once again a very active circulation on the territory. It is absolutely necessary to be extra vigilant, especially since the highest incidence rate concerns 15-44 year olds (309/100 000 inhabitants) and it is the 20-30 year olds who register the highest incidence rate. high: 398,47 / 100 inhabitants.

All age groups are affected, in particular the 50-60 who rise to 209.5 / 100 inhabitants (VS 000 in week 20.95) or even the 47-60 year-olds whose incidence rate is rising to 70 / 208.47 inhabitants.

The level of vulnerability always corresponds to “high” vulnerability. This situation is worrying as the tourist season will take off again with the opening of the territory to foreign tourists, especially North Americans. We must strengthen the early detection of positive cases, make contact tracing, enforce isolation when necessary to avoid the installation of transmission chains and the development of sources of contamination. _AF
