Passionate about quad cross and motorbike, Hubert Boucaud who lives in Sandy Ground, practices his passion as well in Saint-Martin, as in Guadeloupe or in Martinique. Last August, he participated in the 33rd edition of the “12 heures de Pont de Vaux Mondial du Quad”, in Ain, with two Guadeloupeans, the brothers William and John Perse, under the name of Team SXM Gwada.

The "12 hours of Pont de Vaux Mondial du Quad" is the only quad competition in the world and the best drivers from around twenty countries were present, including Argentina, the USA, Canada and even Australia , not counting European countries, for a total of more than 600 pilots. The endurance race took place over four rounds, on a 3,8 km circuit. In addition to the 12 hour endurance race, the competition offered a 6 hour race, as well as the "Quad Kids" where young people from 9 to 15 years old competed on machines from 90 cc to 250 cc. The three days of competition were complemented by the 5th edition of the SSV Trophy, a crossover of buggies and quads, and the 1st edition of "AINduro", a three-hour motorcycle endurance test.

The trio formed four years ago, when the Persian brothers, who practiced only the run, wanted to cross. Hubert Boucaud invited them to Saint-Martin so that they could discover this discipline and, little by little, the two brothers participated in the quad cross championship in Guadeloupe, "and it started from there".

The three West Indians participated in the 12 hours with an original Yamaha 450 YZFR quad, whose engine power had not been modified, but "we were able to compete with pilots who had well prepared cars and who went much faster that we ". In the end, the trio finished in 29th place out of 85, "knowing that with the six machines in front of us, there is only 10 seconds apart".

Until the next edition, Hubert Boucaud participates in the Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin championships, in the cross category with a prepared Yamaha 450 YZFR quad, and in a supermotard with a prepared Suzuki LTR 450, "and it's going pretty well, I am in the top 3 ". _RM
