On the occasion of the 11rd Running Night SXM edition, organized on December 13 by the WATT DE 9 association, the ORTHESIA des Abymes and ORTHESIA Saint-Martin orthoprosthetic firms are extremely proud to enroll two disabled athletes in a team that will also include of its three orthoprosthetists who came specially from Guadeloupe to shed light on French disabled sports on this sporting and festive evening.

Brice Marmonnier

Following a serious car accident in 2004 with serious consequences, on February 4, 2015, Brice Marmonnier had his right leg amputated at the tibial level at his request. This decision was a renaissance for him.

Four days later, he was in a rehabilitation center for athletes and resumed alongside great French athletes the path of training, surpassing oneself and the desire to fight to push the limits of his handicap and master it. perfection.

Since then, in 2016, he became French champion in disabled rowing over an Olympic distance, Vice-champion of France in a sprint and indoor distance, in 2018, vice-champion of France in para-triathlon in PTS4 Category, 3rd in World Cup round in the USA and in 2019, numerous victories in national para-triathlon and placement in the top 50 in valid national triathlons. He is also the first amputee to cross the finish line of the 1 km Ecotrail in Paris.

• Benjamin Pillerault

After several operations, 8 years of illnesses and galleys, after having seen dozens of doctors and having heard the same speeches "we can do that ... but anyway, the best solution is amputation", Benjamin Pillerault a therefore made the decision to be amputated before having no more choice!

Her adventure and new life began on the day of her first amputation. It has now been 1 year since he left the rehabilitation center. And since he crunches life and benefits a maximum.

He is passionate about sport and his primary goal was to resort. He has only been able to do this for a few months.

He participated in detections for the 2024 Games. He is part of the Kayak Program and did his first internship in the French Sitting Volleyball Team.

Through social networks, intervention and exchanges in schools, he tries to share his story with as many children and adults as possible. He in turn hopes to help and transmit good disability values ​​through disabled sport.
