The latest health bulletin issued by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) reports 26 new cases including 3 cases of the English variant identified in French part from February 22 to 28 against 51 the previous week.

Taking into account the consolidated data from the weeks before, this brings to 1 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed in the territory.

On March 1, 2 confirmed Covid patients were hospitalized at the Louis-Constant Fleming center.

Epidemiological indicators show a stable situation but nevertheless confirm that the virus continues to circulate actively in the territory.

The weekly incidence rate is down compared to last week but remains close to the alert threshold of 72,74 / 100 inhabitants from February 000 to 22 against 28/143 inhabitants from February 100 to 000 .

The weekly positivity rate, of 3,23%, is down compared to last week, (against 4,65% from February 15 to 21) and remains below the vigilance threshold.

Last week, 3 new cases of the 20I / 501Y.V1 variant (English variant) of SARS-CoV2 were confirmed in Saint-Martin, which represents 12% of the number of new infections (against 12 in week 7, i.e. 23,5 %).

Otherwise, the drop in the number of tests recorded this week is related to the decrease in the number of tourists in the territory. As a reminder, travelers from the metropolis must justify a compelling reason and be provided with a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours when arriving in the territory. They must respect a 7-day isolation after which they will have to repeat a PCR test.
