Border controls: A Easter weekend under close surveillance

0

It is out of the question to let your guard down! Dutch policemen and French gendarmes are always on call 24 hours a day to enforce confinement and movement restriction measures. The controls take place at border points (Bellevue and Belle-Plaine) and on the entire French part of the island.

As a reminder

Crossing the border subject to strict control formalities

Residents of the French part must be in possession of a document issued and signed by the representative of the State, authorizing them to cross these two symbolic border crossings, only for emergency or imperative professional reasons.

To do this, you must request an official proof by sending an email to covid19pref@saint-barth-saint-martin.gouv.fr
Your request must be accompanied by the following:
-Last name
-First name
-Date and place of birth
-Personal address
-Function
-Business address

You are also required to attach a copy of the professional certificate that you use to travel in the French part. It must be signed by your employer. Any request that does not transmit this form will not be taken into account.

On the side of Sint Maarten

To travel on the Dutch side of the island, people must imperatively obtain the personal derogatory certificate put in place by the government of Sint-Maarten downloadable from: http://www.sintmaartengov.org/government/VSA/HealthUpdates/NOVELCORONAVIRUS/Pages/COVID19%20Forms.aspx
