Economic situation: improvement in the West Indies in 2016

0

The Overseas Issuing Institute (IEOM) and the Overseas Departments Issuing Institute (IEDOM) recently reviewed the economic situation in the overseas territories in 2016. Regarding the Antilles and more precisely Guadeloupe, “the signs of improvement seem to be confirmed in 2016” and “the business climate is generally well oriented”, we can read in the note from the IEDOM. Household consumption is doing well, prices are surfing on stability and banking activity is dynamic. The main economic indicators are green and 2017 should therefore benefit from this favorable climate: “Economic activity in the Antilles in 2017 should return to its pre-crisis level, continuing the positive dynamic that began in 2015.” _EH
