CTOS and COM conflict: Daniel Gibbs in the financial impossibility of satisfying the strikers

At the end of last week, President Gibbs gave a progress report on the strike which has affected part of the agents of the Caisse des Ecoles (CTOS) and the Community for many days.

The president Daniel Gibbs, accompanied by the vice-presidents, Valérie Damaseau, Annick Pétrus and the president of the Caisse Territoriale des Œuvres Scolaires (CTOS) Mrs. Pascale Laborde, gave a press conference, this Saturday, February 09, 2019, to explain the community view and request that the strike be lifted.

After having clearly explained the context which led to this strike notice, President Gibbs recalled that the CTOS as the community were not in a position to recruit new agents, given their respective financial situation. The president thus indicated that he had sent a letter to the local secretary of the UTC-UGTG union, Ms. Nicole Javois White, on Friday February 8, specifying the financial inability of both CTOS and the Collectivity to be able to respond to point n ° 1 demands that require the hiring of 16 people within the CTOS.

The president and his team remain open to negotiation on the other points of claim. The DGS and HRD departments are more than ever mobilized to move forward on the points of claim. The President now requests that the strike be lifted to allow students and the school community to return to normal functioning and to allow the CTOS and the community to work serenely on the points claimed by the unions.

President Gibbs reiterated his commitment to the reform of the administration, the reorganization of services and the partnership work he wishes to carry out with the unions for the updating of the files of the agents.
