The first edition of the “Les Voix de Saint-Martin” competition which took place on May 29 at the Domaine des LAURIERS in La Savane revealed many talents.
An event which will henceforth be organized each year by the Soleil Karaib association, it also offers the winners the precious opportunity to be preselected in the prestigious competition "Les Voix des Outre-Mer" which will take place at the Paris opera. As a reminder, “Les Voix de Saint-Martin” is a competition open to any singing lover, from the age of twelve. In the youth category, ten candidates presented themselves in front of the microphone of the hearings. The Golden Trophy was won by sixteen-year-old Savinya Burnett-Charbonnier. Chiara Ferrara, at the height of her twelve and a half years, left with the Silver Trophy. The Bronze Trophy was awarded to Théranika Abraham, fourteen and a half years old. Saint-Martin's youth is full of talent! Among the adults, six music-loving performers followed one another in front of the jury. Three services came out of the lot including that of Rubia Sutton aged 45 who won the first prize, the Golden Trophy. The second place is occupied by Pierre-Lou Richeux, 19, with the Silver Trophy, and the Bronze Trophy now sits with Omer James, 31. Several gifts were offered to the winners in each category, including a microphone to encourage them to make their voices heard and a smartphone thanks to Dauphin Telecom. Joanita Ferdinand Grot, president of the Soleil Karaib association, and her team are already focusing on the second edition of this competition which gives pride of place to the melodious voices of Saint-Martin. The call for budding artists is launched! _VX
