o start the new year in a favorable environment, the Compagnons Bâtisseurs team carried out a small renovation of its workshop in Quartier d'Orléans with the development of the DIY space thanks to Yolande, technical animator assisted by Regina, Eden , Laurick and Dominique, agents and volunteers of the association. This new space equipped with a workbench will allow Compagnons Bâtisseurs and participants to work on DIY projects in optimal conditions. Collaboration and the transmission of knowledge remain the major characteristics of the association. Ready to relaunch collective activities, the Compagnons Bâtisseurs have already offered, since last January 9, several morning workshops, whether at Sandy Ground (Mondays) or in Quartier d'Orléans (Tuesdays), such as decoration in concrete or learning how to lay placo, from the framework to painting. The association of Compagnons Bâtisseurs, which works to improve and rehabilitate the living environment of its beneficiaries, offers weekly collective educational activities that create social ties. Through its housing adaptation project to improve the quality of life of the elderly or people with disabilities, Fabrice, technical facilitator, and Romario, volunteer, have transformed a resident's bathroom into an accessible shower room and appropriate to their situation. The Compagnons Bâtisseurs also lend their expertise and resources by working with people on low incomes or in precarious situations in order to carry out work that makes their home an adequate and compliant living space. During the year 2022, the association intervened with ten beneficiaries by providing technical solutions optimizing their habitat according to their situation. The collective workshops of the Compagnons Bâtisseurs bring together more and more people around values such as sharing, conviviality, self-esteem, creation and exchange. Values that nourish the brain and the heart. The next workshop open to all focuses on a more theoretical theme with the "rights and duties of tenants and mediation", the first session took place this Monday, January 23 in the J.Beaupère parking lot at Sandy Ground and the second will be this Tuesday, January 24 at the Résidence Palmeraies in Quartier d'Orléans, from 9 a.m. to noon.
