This Friday, May 8, France commemorated the 76th anniversary of the Allied victory over Nazi Germany and the end of World War II in Europe.

Signed in two stages, the surrender of the Reich's army ended a conflict that left more than 36 million dead on the continent. A commemoration ceremony took place in this context last Friday at the War Memorial located in the Gardens of the Collectivity, in the presence of the Prefect, Serge Gouteyron, the 3rd Vice-President of the Collectivity, Sofia Carti, the Commander of the Gendarmerie of the Northern Islands, Stefan Basso, as well as elected representatives of the Territorial Council and a delegation of the veterans association chaired by Robert Garon. _AF
